Yuya Wakamatsu Credit: ONE Championship

Thailand – ONE Championship flyweight Yuya Wakamatsu will welcome Gilbert Nakatani to the promotion at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec 6 in Bangkok sources tell Cageside Press.

Wakamatsu (17-6) looks to make it three wins in a row when he faces Nakatani at Lumpinee Stadium. He’s coming off victories over Wei Xe and Danny Kingad respectively. The MMA veteran has a lengthy resume with runs in Pancrase, and now ONE Championship where he entered the promotion in 2018.

Nakatani (8-1) comes in following a successful LFA run with wins over Gabriel Gomes and Jordan Harris.

Wakamatsu has been a mainstay in the top 5 at ONE Championship for years which makes him a very tough debut opponent for Nakatani. The Japanese star is a tough out for any fighter much less a debutant coming into the promotion.

To his credit Nakatani is no slouch whatsoever. 4 of Nakatani’s 8 victories come by way of knockout, with two submissions and two decisions.

ONE Fight Night 26 takes place on Dec 6 from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. It’ll be the last event of 2024 that broadcasts on Amazon Prime Video.

The rest of the card looks as follows:

Christian Lee (C) vs. Alibeg Rasulov – ONE Welterweight Title
Mayssa Bastos (C) vs. Danielle Kelly – ONE Strawweight Title
Denis Puric vs. Elias Mahmoudi
Jon Di Bella vs. Rui Botelho
T. Petchportoror vs. Danial Williams

More bouts are expected to be announced soon.
