Nicholas Meregali to Undergo Another Surgery
At ADCC 2024, Michael Pixley shocked the world when he defeated multi-time world champion Nicholas Meregali. Pixley’s beautifully executed throw slammed Meregali on his shoulder, resulting in a nasty injury.
Nicholas had immediate surgery and missed the rest of 2024. Now, Meregali has more unfortunate news that his shoulder requires an additional surgery.
This surgery will put Meregali out another six months from competing and training.
“I had my first shoulder surgery on August 21st, and since then, my life has been on pause due to the severity of my injury.
My entire focus shifted to healing, but despite all my effort, something unexpected happened.
I ended up needing another shoulder repair, which will keep me away from my passion for another 4 to 6 months.
I won’t say every day has been easy, but I also can say I’m deeply focused on the life lessons and opportunities for growth that this experience is bringing me.
In tough times, we must take full responsibility, embrace the lessons, and grow.”- Nicholas Meregali.
