Jake Paul and Matchroom Boxing have settled their differences and requested a dismissal of dueling lawsuits with a federal court in New York.

In paperwork filed with the United States District Court, Southern District of New York on Monday, attorneys for all parties involved requested a dismissal after previously issuing notification that a settlement agreement had been reached.

Per the filing on Monday:

“It is hereby stipulated and agreed, by the undersigned counsel of record for the parties herein, pursuant to Rule 41(a)(1)(ii) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, that the above-captioned action is dismissed with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.”

In a separate filing on March 18, attorneys for Paul and Matchroom Boxing, which is led by Eddie Hearn, along with judge Glenn Feldman notified the court that a settlement agreement had been reached and all parties would be filing for a dismissal.

“Plaintiffs Matchroom Boxing Limited (“Matchroom”) and Edward John Hearn (“Hearn”), Plaintiff-Intervenor Glenn Feldman (“Feldman”) (collectively the “Plaintiffs”), and Defendant Jake Paul (“Paul”) (collectively referred to herein as the “Parties”) jointly submit this letter to notify the Court that the Parties have entered into a Settlement Agreement. Pursuant to the terms thereof, the Parties expect to file a Stipulation of Dismissal on or before March 31, 2025.”

The entire ordeal centered around comments and allegations made by Paul in the wake of a controversial decision surrounding the first fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano back in 2022 as well as a separate bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

The initial lawsuit filed by Matchroom Boxing alleged that Paul made defamatory statements that Matchroom Boxing “bribed” Feldman — a boxing judge — “to influence the outcome of two boxing matches that he refereed.”

In an interview, Paul stated that “clearly [Glenn Feldman] is getting paid money by Matchroom Boxing” after he scored the fights for Taylor and Joshua, who are both represented by Hearn’s promotion. Paul claimed that it’s “an accusation that [he doesn’t] take lightly” but added “it’s just so blatantly obvious and they’re not even trying to hide it.”

As a result, Matchroom Boxing filed a defamation lawsuit against Paul and Feldman actually joined the lawsuit as a co-plaintiff in October 2022.

Despite the ongoing lawsuit, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing still managed to work together to promote a rematch between Taylor and Serrano this past November with a third fight between them now scheduled for July 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

A settlement conference was originally scheduled this past December after Judge Paul Gardephe from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York denied Paul’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit back in September, which led to a pre-trial conference being scheduled a few weeks later.

Terms of the settlement agreement were not disclosed, but it appears all parties are satisfied with the outcome after filing for a dismissal with the courts.
