Misfits Boxing 21 weigh-in, faceoff video: Darren Till promises ‘f*cking violence’ in main event

Darren Till guarantees his second Misfits Boxing match will have no shortage of violence.

The one-time UFC title challenger fights fellow MMA fighter Darren Stewart in the cruiserweight main event Friday’s Misfits Boxing 21 card in Derby, England. Both fighters successfully weighed in for the contest Friday and were then brought together to face off.

Watch the staredown below.

The Englishmen were respectful of one another, with Till in particular wanting to avoid any direct trash talk and Stewart and simply hype up the fight.

“Obviously, I’m going to look to knock him out over eight rounds,” Till said. “There’s not a lot to say. A lot of people are here for a lot of gimmicky shit, but I’m a violent motherf*cker and Darren’s a violent motherf*cker, so we’re f*cking coming for violence. It doesn’t matter about the respect. You all talk about, ‘respect, respect, respect,’ it’s not about that. This is fighting.

“We’re going to go in to f*cking absolutely annihilate each other and then we’re going to have respect after. That’s how fighting is, so a few people come here, a few of of the things here tonight, it doesn’t always have to be about all bullshit. You’re still going to get violence tomorrow and that’s what you’re here for.”

Friday’s lineup features nine fights, with the second-most intriguing arguably being Chase DeMoor’s heavyweight title defense against Canada’s Tanner Tolman. DeMoor stole the show at a press conference Wednesday, throwing a bottle with stunning accuracy at the face of past opponent Tempo Arts.

That sparked a near-brawl with Tempo Arts and Godson Umeh, another DeMoor rival, but his interaction with Tolman at the weigh-ins was far less volatile.

After an awkward verbal exchange, Tolman told DeMoor that Godson had a gift for him. He opened up a small case to reveal a candy necklace, which DeMoor promptly began to chew on.

“Godson sent me a gift for you,” Tolman said. “He feels bad. Just something he thought you were worth.”
