Did Daniel Cormier sign petition to strip Jon Jones of UFC title? Watch stammering ‘DC’ downplay answer

Over 100,000 fans have signed a petition to strip Jon Jones of the UFC heavyweight title.

That’s because “Bones” refuses to commit to a title unification bout against Tom Aspinall, making the frustrated Brit the longest interim champion in the history of the promotion. And that’s before we even consider the rest of the fed-up contenders.

This isn’t the first time an online petition has been started to pressure a UFC star into action; however, the organization is unlikely to waver considering the amount of money that’s at stake with Jones atop a major pay-per-view (PPV) card.

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, did not sign the petition, despite his bitter rivalry with Jones. In addition to losing two fights against “Bones” (with one later changed to a No Contest), “DC” suffered years of verbal abuse from the “Ted Bundy of UFC.”

Yes, he’s still here.

“There’s a petition to strip Jon Jones,” Cormier said on his YouTube show.

“You signed it, didn’t you?” co-host Ben Askren asked.

“No, I didn’t,” Cormier insisted.

Fans on social media don’t believe “DC” and think the retired ex-champ signed the petition in secret. Only Cormier knows for sure, but it doesn’t sound like we’re any closer to getting the pool-partying Jones back inside the Octagon anytime soon.

Blame UFC?
