Last year, Andrew Wiltse’s mental illness got the better of him and nearly destroyed his life. Now he’s try to rebuild his YouTube channel and life.
Check out the full story on Andrew’s attempt at recovery below.
Where did Andrew’s YT Channel Go?
On Reddit, a poster in the r/BJJ forum asked if Andrew Wiltse’s YouTube got taken down.
Wiltse Himself Responds
Surprisingly, Andrew Wiltse himself saw the question and gave his answer to why some of his videos were removed.
“I had a severe (understatement) manic episode with super high psychosis insanity, said and did a bunch of insane and not okay stuff while crazy, and got my old channel removed.
Someone sent me an archive with like, 70 videos of my old youtube content, so I’m slowly reuploading them while making new content.

Some of the videos you’re talking about are already back up.
For the stuff I don’t have archived, I’m hoping to re make them at some point. I have a pretty solid system down for making those technique videos.
Once again, I’m sorry I let my mental health affect everyone around me and Online in such a negative way. It wont happen again.
Edit: if anyone happens to have any of my old youtube content saved for any reason, please hit me up. I’d love to re upload it. Edit 2: didn’t expect this comment to kind if blow up. I’m generally just super anxious about people attacking me with the manic episode stuff, or I’d post more often.”- Andrew Wiltse
Andrew Also Gives Life Update and Apology
After explaining what was going on with his YouTube channel, Andrew also gave everyone a life update and apologized for his recent lapse in sanity.
“Here’s a little life update though. –
Things have been slowly coming back together. People came back into my life that I never expected to, and I’ve got a really positive discord community helping me get through the rough patches. My mom has actually been like, crazy supportive and we’re friends now. We talk on the phone daily. The patreon coaching service really took off and I’m less stressed about Financials for sure with the way that’s going. Bird and me talk, and we’re thinking about meeting up regularly to film videos and instructionals. So even if BJJ fanatics keeps my old stuff shelved, I’ll make sure some incarnation is out there. If they released them for free I’d be super happy.”- Andrew Wiltse
Good Luck Andrew
Mental health is extremely important and we hope that Andrew is in a good place. We wish him luck in his life and hope he can get back to teaching and maybe even competing.
