Holzer’s Hannover homecoming matchup is now official, and he’ll be facing the biggest test of his career!
One of Europe’s best prospects, Max Holzer (11-0), will go against UFC veteran, Khalid Taha (15-5, 1NC), in a featherweight bout at OKTAGON 74. Not only will the event signify the promotion’s first ever show in Hannover, Germany, but it also gives ‘Stifler’ the chance to compete in his hometown and propel his recent momentum even further. Zag Arena will play host to this anticipated showdown which takes place on Saturday, September 13, with fan demand already extremely high for tickets.
Holzer is undefeated overall and has gone 5-0 since joining the organisation almost a year and a half ago, quickly climbing to the #3 spot in the rankings. He’s secured finishes in four of his five fights, including a high-profile win over Deniz Ilbay in April that stirred controversy with a heated post-fight exchange. ‘Stifler’ has gained fans by the bucket load with his extravagant walkouts and charismatic personality, but his stardom will reach new heights if he can take out Taha later this year.
The athlete representing Lebanon, Taha, has fought in the UFC and RIZIN, sharing the cage with the likes of Boston Salmon and Raoni Barcelos. He was signed to OKTAGON MMA earlier this year and impressed with a TKO victory over Jose Zarauz in Dortmund, taking his finishing rate to an intimidating 87%. Taha has had his eyes on Holzer ever since the ink was dry on his promotional contract and is determined to spoil the party on September 13 by eliminating his undefeated record.
More announcements surrounding OKTAGON 74 in Hannover will be revealed over the coming weeks. Tickets can be purchased for the landmark event on this link.
