Read the full details below.

New Wave In For CJI 2

CJI 2 won’t have Gordon Ryan, but they will have New Wave Jiu-Jitsu. As the picture of John Danaher and Craig Jones showed, the two have mended fences and New Wave is confirmed.

Lachlan Giles Misfit Team

Along with New Wave Jiu-Jitsu being confirmed for CJI 2, Jones had more team announcements. He announced that there will be misfit teams for the event.

These teams will be made up of athletes who are not part of big teams. Craig further explained that these teams would be separated by region to prevent super teams from being constructed

The first misfits team announced will be representing Australia and Asia and be coached by Lachlan Giles. Jones also announced that Lachlan will be holding an invitational tournament to decide who gets spots on the team.

Wildcards & Superfights

Craig also announced the introduction of wildcards into the CJI 2 team tournament. These wildcards will be available for announced teams who are missing athletes at certain weight classes on their team.

Superfights will also be announced in the coming months and Craig might be in one of them again.

The event will be going down at the end of the IBJJF Masters Worlds on August 30th, 2025 in Vegas.
