Gordon Ryan Shoots Down CJI 2 Rumors
The bad blood and war of words between Gordon Ryan and B-Team are revving up again. In a recent post on Instagram, Ryan shot down rumors that he would be competing at CJI 2.
He(of course) went even further to take a shot at the event organizers(B-Team).
Gordon claimed that he would be taking a day pay cut for the “shitty event.” The reigning ADCC champ also stated that he’d “rather take a shotgun blast to the face than compete for them.”
“Just so everyone can stop speculating, and so Z Team can stop using my name (the only name) to promote their shitty event where winning athletes are taking a roughly 80% pay cut from the 1st event, let’s set the record straight. I was never invited to CJI 1, which made little sense financially. Out team was invited to CJI 2, where I’d be making less than I do to even show at other events. Moreover, if the prize money was 10b to win, on principle, I’d rather take a shotgun blast to the face than compete. Good luck coming close to even breaking even without me. That is all 🙂”- Gordon Ryan.
Will New Wave Be Competing?
Well it’s obvious that Gordon was going to be a no, but what about New Wave? It’s obvious Ryan wants nothing to do with the event, but this is a big opportunity for his team.
This could be the biggest payday of the year for his teammates and show they’re the best team. Maybe we’ll see John Danaher step in and bring a team to the event in August.
