Grown Man Give 9-Year Old the Finger
A man was coaching his son at a local Grappling Industries Jiu-Jitsu event. After the match, the girl went to shake his hand and she gave him the finger.
This recent video has gone viral and the BJJ community has called for dad to receive a life-time ban from competitions.
The Son’s Instructor Takes Actions
The son’s coach Dante Rivera quickly took action after being notified of the incident. Effective immediately, the father is now banned from all BJJ competitions that his son attends.
Also, as an apology to the girl, Rivera is paying a lifetime membership for her to compete at Grappling Industries.
The Dad Responds to the Video
The father giving the little girl the finger responded to one of the videos posted. He went on to explain what caused him to lose his cool and react the way he did.
“I completely lost my cool. What was not seen in the video was after the match ended which my son lost, he was crying.
The girl in the video turned to my son and made the crying face at my son and told him to cry about it.The ref warned her to stop, she then walked towards me and said the same thing which is when I lost my cool.
It should have never happened and I should have never lost my cool.2 wrongs don’t make a right and all I can do is apologize.
I should have acted like an adult. Unfortunately, I didn’t.I am disappointed with myself for how I conducted myself.
This should have never happened. All I can say is I am truly sorry.
I’m sorry to the girl in the video and to my son. Also, our gym. I’m sorry for my actions.”
