In November, the AJP Tour (Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro) revealed an exciting lineup for its 2023-2024 Southeast Asia (SEA) competitions. These competitions, held across Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia, showcased the best of Jiu-Jitsu talent in the region, offering a total of 4600 points to the top performers. The standout athletes from this series have not only secured prestigious titles but have also earned free registration for the highly anticipated Regional SEA Championship in Malaysia on October 20th, 2024.

The Road Ahead: Regional SEA Championship and Beyond

The winners of the SEA Tour have not only earned free registration for the Regional SEA Championship, but they also stand to gain more than just bragging rights. The winners of the South East Asian Championship will secure 800 points in the prestigious World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship ranking system. This is a critical step for athletes looking to make a mark on the global stage.

The higher-ranked athletes following the Regional Championship will have the chance to be selected for the Country Qualifiers, a gateway to competing in the World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024. At the World Pro, they’ll have the opportunity to compete for substantial cash prizes and establish themselves among the world’s top Jiu-Jitsu fighters.

What This Means for Jiu-Jitsu in Southeast Asia

The AJP SEA Tour and the upcoming Regional SEA Championship highlight the growing prominence of Jiu-Jitsu in Southeast Asia. With competitions across multiple countries and a structured path leading to international recognition at the World Pro, these tournaments offer local athletes a chance to gain exposure, improve their skills, and compete on a world stage.

For the winners, the journey is just beginning. With points, rankings, and qualifications on the line, the road to the World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship promises to be both challenging and rewarding. Southeast Asia’s Jiu-Jitsu talent is on the rise, and these athletes are set to make a significant impact in the international Jiu-Jitsu community.

Keep an eye on the Regional SEA Championship in Malaysia this October for the next chapter in this exciting journey!
