Holly Holm, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and boxing Hall of Famer, is set to make her return to the boxing ring. Holm has signed with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and will face undefeated Mexican fighter Yolanda Vega on June 28, 2025, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The bout will be part of the undercard for the Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. event, broadcast live on DAZN pay-per-view.
Holm, 43, boasts a professional boxing record of 33-2-3, with world titles in three weight classes. She last competed in boxing in 2013 before transitioning full-time to mixed martial arts, where she achieved a 15-7 record and famously knocked out Ronda Rousey in 2015 to win the UFC bantamweight title. After her final UFC bout in April 2024, Holm requested her release to pursue other opportunities, leading to her return to boxing.
Yolanda Vega, 10-0 with one knockout, hails from Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. She has been active in the ring, fighting four times in the past year, most recently securing a unanimous decision victory over Claudia Fernanda Herrera Lopez in March 2025.
Holm expressed enthusiasm about her return: “I’m excited to partner with Most Valuable Promotions and return to the boxing ring. This new chapter is going to be an exciting journey, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.” She aims to pursue a fourth world title in a new division, having previously held titles in higher weight classes.
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, praised Holm’s dual-sport achievements: “Holly Holm is the most dominant two-sport athlete in history—period. Her accomplishments in both boxing and MMA are unmatched, and we’re honored to welcome her to Most Valuable Promotions.” He also highlighted Vega’s aspirations, noting her desire to become a world champion.
Holm’s return adds to MVP’s growing roster of prominent female boxers, including Amanda Serrano, Alycia Baumgardner, Savannah Marshall, and Chantelle Cameron. Her comeback fight against Vega is anticipated to be a significant event in women’s boxing.
