A 185-pound submission grappling match between Izaak Michell and Francisco Lo is booked for ONE Fight Night 33 on July 11, 2025.
An intriguing no-gi match between Australian fan-favorite Izaak Michell and Brazilian submission hunter Francisco Lo has been added to ONE Championship’s July U.S. primetime event.
The pair will square off in a welterweight (185-pound) submission grappling clash at ONE Fight Night 33 on July 11, 2025. That 10-minute, submission-only encounter will take place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Like all other submission grappling matches in ONE, the bout will be scored under the organization’s “global ruleset,” which emphasizes legitimate submission attempts (catches) as the most significant judging criteria.
Both athletes are still in search of their first victory in ONE.
A two-time ADCC Trials winner, Michell is renowned for his aggressive, back-hunting style, relentless takedown game, and dynamic leg locks. He boasts notable victories over the likes of no-gi world champion Roberto Jimenez, multiple-time ADCC veteran Jacob “The Hillbilly Hammer” Couch, and PGF champion Ryan Aitken.
In Michell’s lone appearance in ONE, back in April 2024 at ONE Fight Night 21, he suffered a submission loss to reigning ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion Tye Ruotolo.
For his part, the 24-year-old Lo is an IBJJF gi and no-gi Pans champion, as well as a 2024 IBJJF gi and no-gi Worlds silver medalist. Known for his creative and unpredictable submission game, he holds notable no-gi victories over ADCC veteran Jon Blank, Jacob Couch, and no-gi world champion Sebastian Rodriguez.
Like Michell, Lo lost by submission in his ONE Championship debut, succumbing to a “Ruotolotine” at the hands of ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo.
Stylistically, the clash between Michell and Lo could go many different ways. While Michell is almost guaranteed to work hard for a takedown and top position, Lo is much more of a wildcard. The Brazilian is a talented wrestler in his own right, but is perhaps most dangerous from his crafty closed guard.
