Jon Jones isn’t going to let fight fans drag him down.
“Bones” is busy in Thailand, filming the Russian Ultimate Fighter knockoff alongside the great Nathan Diaz (not this bitter rival). It’s already been six months since he defended his Heavyweight crown opposite Stipe Miocic, but there’s still no update on when or if Jones will ever face off with interim strap-hanger Tom Aspinall. He’s getting heckled quite a bit by fans, but per a recent Instagram live, Jones is living his best life rather than stressing about the fan perception.
Jon Jones responds on IG live to everyone who says he is ducking Tom Aspinall:
“I’ve got people in the chat calling me a duck. Meanwhile, I’m living my absolute best life”
“I don’t know if it’s considered ducking when you’re living good. I don’t think it works like that.” pic.twitter.com/AFpcyqL48d

“I’ve got people in the chat calling me a duck,” Jones said from the back of a motorbike in the streets of Thailand. “Meanwhile, I’m living my absolute best life. I don’t know if it’s considered ducking when you’re living good. I don’t think it works like that.”
Safe to say, Jones is keeping busy while negotiations play out. Per one industry insider, “Bones” is requesting $30 million to square off against his younger challenger, whereas another suggests he’s merely killing time to force Aspinall to fight again, allowing him to gather more data.
As for the longest reigning interim champion in UFC history? He seems pretty frustrated. Aspinall has recently indicated he’s ready to move on from the match up if needed, and even his dad is going off on rants about the whole situation! It’s a shame Aspinall has landed in this purgatory, as he should be one of the most popular fighters on the roster given his fighting style and dominance.
On an unrelated note, “International Fight Week” still doesn’t have a main event. If only there was a Heavyweight blockbuster available!
