One fighter came in heavy, but UFC 309 is now official, including the marquee main event match-up of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic.
Jones vs. Miocic may be leaving Tom Aspinall, the UFC‘s interim heavyweight champion, out in the gold. There’s no question, however, that it’s a fight fans still want to see.
Neither man had any trouble hitting the heavyweight limit on Friday, though Miocic, at 248, was over 10lbs heavier than his last appearance. Jones will be the lighter man on Saturday, weighing in at 237.6.
Coming in heavy was James Llontop, a lightweight whose fight with Mauricio Ruffy was already a 165lb catchweight. Llontop had stepped up on short notice, hence the catchweight, but still missed the mark by 1.2lbs.
Full results and highlights from Friday’s UFC 309 weigh-in are below.
