Top names like Pat Downey, Chris Weidman, and Junny Ocasio will compete at Fury Grappling 13, which takes place on May 23, 2025.
This Friday night, Fury Grappling will touch down at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for a card featuring a number of elite grapplers and top MMA fighters.
In the main event, current UFC featherweight standout Pat Sabatini will put his undefeated Fury Grappling record on the line against fellow UFC star Joe Solecki for the Fury Grappling welterweight title.
Before that, the Fury Grappling bantamweight title will be up for grabs when decorated veteran Junny Ocasio takes on the always-dangerous Kevin Dantzler. An IBJJF no-gi Worlds, Pans, and European champion, Ocasio has spent the past couple of years cementing himself as one of the planet’s top pound-for-pound grapplers.
Ocasio’s well-rounded, ultra-technical game will be put to the test against Dantzler, who boasts notable wins over the likes of former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling and current UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili.
Also, in an intriguing matchup between elite wrestlers, former US National Champion and NCAA All-American Pat Downey will face former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman. Downey has recently made waves in the world of submission grappling, dominating former UFC champion Luke Rockhold at last year’s inaugural Craig Jones Invitational, and, in his most recent Fury Grappling appearance, defeating Andre Petroski in overtime.
Weidman enjoyed a lengthy and successful career in the UFC before announcing his retirement from the promotion late last year. A decorated collegiate wrestler in his own right, Weidman is no stranger to elite no-gi competition. He was a 2009 ADCC Trials winner and, more recently, lost a decision to top heavyweight grappler Owen Livesey at Polaris.
In other notable action, four elite grapplers will compete in a one-night tournament with $5,000 on the line. Those four competitors are 2024 IBJJF no-gi Pans champion Amanda Bruse, brown belt standout Cindy Ung, young B-Team phenom Taylor Hishaw, and New Wave product Trinity Pun.
