[WATCH] Police Officer Loses Mount Position – Allows Suspect To Grab An Axe
It goes almost without saying that police officers should have at least some Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice as a part of their regular training. To learn how to take the suspect down safely and hold them down.
Because, if the second part cannot be executed properly…The first one won’t matter – and might even lead them into dangerous positions themselves.
Which is exactly what happened to one police officer in Canada. He held a suspect in the Mount position, only to be almost literally shaken off it…
Which allowed the suspect to stand up, go to his car, and grab an axe.Luckily enough, the suspect was arrested later on without harm to either them or the officer.
Tom DeBlass shared the footage of the incident via his social media:
I’m fully confident any of my blue belt officers would have maintained control of this man.
I saw an opportunity for two on one, gift wrap, and a back take.
Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
